Sterilisation Of Tallow
Clean Tallow is sterilised at 133°C for 20 minutes at 3 Bar
pressure. The Steriliser is filled with a five-ton charge heated
to a minimum of 134°C before the sterilisation process begins.
Then pressure is applied in the form of steam and the system is
allowed to remain at 133°C and 3 Bar for 21 minutes. The system
is then depressurised and the vapours are taken to the condensers.
Clean Steriliser Tallow is stored at 60 to 70°C in an insulated
tank, which is bunded and also has a high level alarm to avoid
spillages, and the vents of the tank are vented to the Bio Filter.
| Tallow
is sold in 20 to 23 tonne loads. Loading is supervised, taking
approximately 30 minutes. There is no loss of product during
loading. |
