The facility operates to the highest environmental standards under IPPC, Licence No. P0037-03, issued by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The environmental controls, reporting and monitoring are the responsibility of the environmental manger.

College Proteins produce two products which are carbon neutral fuels - Tallow and Meat & Bone Meal. Over the years the company has significantly reduced the carbon emissions from the site. Following the introduction, by the EPA, of the Carbon Emissions National Allocation Plan, College Proteins have reduced the carbon emissions by 99.4%.
